How to tackle procrastination

When we want to procrastinate, the part of our brain that lights up when we experience pain gets activated. Soon after, our brain attempts to push us onto something less uncomfortable (watching youtube for example). If it is successful, we are temporarily happy and free of pain. Brain's mission accomplished!

How to tackle this problem: Try the pomodoro technique. Pomodoro is simple: 25 mins of focus -> 5 mins of retrieval (diffused thinking) -> 3 mins of rest (no focused work; do something that requires very little brainpower). Repeat.
